What is a forced-air pellet stove?
The forced-air pellet stove burns wood pellets and spreads the heat through the room by means of a fan, heating the space where it is installed quickly and evenly. It is the ideal solution for heating the living room, the den or an open space without plumbing work, because it does not connect to the radiators but acts directly on the air of the room.
How heat ventilation works
An automatic feed system draws the pellets from the hopper and brings them to the brazier, where combustion generates heat. The fan pushes the warm air into the room, while ductable models can also send the heat to nearby rooms through simple ducting. In this way you heat several zones of the house starting from a single stove.
How many kW does your room need?
The power is chosen according to the square metres and the insulation of the space. As a general reference:
- up to 6 kW: small and well-insulated rooms, such as a bedroom or a study.
- from 7 to 9 kW: medium-sized living rooms, from 50 to 80 square metres.
- from 10 to 12 kW: large or open spaces, including with ductable models.
If you prefer the charm of a visible flame with wood, consider the wood stoves or the whole range of stoves and fireplaces.
Automatic and programmable
Compared with a traditional stove, the forced-air pellet stove lights and switches off on its own following the timer thermostat. You set the lighting times and the desired temperature, and the stove manages combustion independently, adjusting the power to keep comfort constant. Many models can also be controlled by app or remote, so you find the house already warm when you get back.
High efficiency and consumption under control
Pellet stoves reach very high efficiency, because they use almost all the heat produced by combustion instead of dispersing it. High efficiency means less pellet burned for the same heat and therefore a lower cost during the cold season. Pellets are also a practical fuel to store, with a stable cost compared with other sources.
The brands available
In the catalogue you will find forced-air pellet stoves from the best Italian manufacturers, with official warranty and available spare parts: La Nordica, Kalor and King. Prices start from around 770 euros and reach the largest, ductable solutions at around 2430 euros, for every space and budget need.
