What is a quad split console air conditioner?
The quad split console system connects four floor-standing indoor units to a single outdoor unit. The consoles sit low, near the floor, like a modern radiator, and diffuse the air from the bottom upwards. It is the right solution when you want to air-condition four different rooms without installing units high on the wall and without work on the false ceilings.
Why choose the console version
The floor console has a simpler and more direct installation, because it is mounted low without work on the ceiling. It is convenient when the upper walls are taken up by furniture, bookcases or windows, or when you want to replace old radiators while keeping the same mounting point. The diffusion of the air from below naturally warms the feet and the living area, a feature appreciated especially in winter.
Four rooms, a single unit
With four consoles connected to a single outdoor unit you manage four rooms independently, for example the living area and the bedrooms. Each console works at its own temperature and on its own schedule, while the inverter modulates the power according to the rooms actually active. If you need to air-condition fewer rooms, you can consider a tri split wall-mounted system or build the ideal combination with the multisplit configurator.
How many BTU do you need for four rooms?
In a quad split, each console has its own power, expressed in BTU, chosen according to the square metres of the room. The outdoor unit must then support the sum of the four units. As a general rule:
- Bedrooms and studies up to about 25 m²: count on around 9000 BTU.
- Living rooms and spaces from 25 to 35 m²: count on around 12000 BTU.
- Large living areas and open spaces: count on from 18000 BTU upwards.
Matching the four consoles correctly avoids waste and keeps the system close to its point of maximum efficiency, both in cooling and in heating.
The available brands
For quad split console systems we offer solutions from Hisense and TCL, with official warranty and available spare parts. Prices range from about 2.372 euros to 2.943 euros, depending on the size of the outdoor unit and the four indoor consoles. All catalogue models are ready to ship.
Console or other solutions compared
The console is worthwhile when you are looking for a simple installation and air diffusion from below. If instead you want a completely invisible system, with the units hidden in the false ceilings, the best choice is the quad split ducted version. For rooms with clear ceilings you can also consider the recessed cassette units, while the full range is in the air conditioners section.
Tax incentives and reduced VAT
The purchase and installation of a heat pump air conditioner may qualify for tax incentives where applicable, such as reduced VAT for renovation work. The conditions depend on the type of work, so it is best to check the current requirements before purchase.
