What is a quad split cassette air conditioner?
The quad split cassette connects four cassette indoor units to a single outdoor unit. The cassettes are installed recessed into the suspended ceiling and diffuse the air in several directions, ensuring even distribution throughout the space. It is the configuration designed for those who need to cool four commercial spaces, such as offices, meeting rooms, shops and hospitality venues, with a single outdoor motor.
Why cassette units in commercial spaces
The ceiling cassette is the most common solution in public and professional premises: it stays almost invisible because it is integrated into the suspended ceiling, frees up the walls completely and distributes the air 360 degrees without creating annoying direct draughts. That is why it is preferred in large, busy spaces. If you need a single cassette unit, consider a monosplit cassette; for the entire range see the cassette air conditioners.
Four spaces with a single outdoor motor
With the quad split you connect four cassettes to a single outdoor unit: you take up just one technical spot on the roof or at the rear of the business and keep the exterior of the building tidy. It is the natural choice when you need to serve four separate zones of the same premises. If there are only two or three spaces, you can look at a trial split, while for wall units alone you find the quad split wall-mounted. All combinations are put together from the multisplit configurator.
How to size the power
In cassette systems the power of each unit is calculated on the square metres, the ceiling height and the flow of people, factors typical of commercial spaces. Each cassette can have a different size, so you assign more power to the larger or busier zones and contain consumption where less cooling is needed. For correct sizing it pays to get assistance at the time of purchase.
Heat pump and consumption
The cassettes work as inverter heat pumps, so they cool in summer and heat in winter, modulating the power according to the actual load of the premises. Cooling efficiency is read in the SEER value, heating efficiency in the SCOP, and high ratings mean lower consumption, a decisive aspect when the system stays on for many hours a day in a business.
